With Neymar having been linked with a surprise return to FC Barcelona, the Catalan club's president has now spoken about the Brazilian superstar's potential return to the Camp Nou.
There have been many rumours suggesting the 26-year-old is not entirely happy at Paris Saint-Germain, whom he joined from Barca for a world-record transfer fee in 2017.
Many Spanish publications have reported that Neymar would be open to returning to Barca, but Blaugrana president Josep Maria Bartomeu has now insisted that, while he has kept in touch with the player, he has not discussed a return to Spain with the Selecao talisman.
"I've spoken with Neymar, we've seen each other a few times, but his people have never told me he wants to come back," he told Radio Kanal Barcelona.
"No one's called us about it. Neymar has a contract with PSG. It's his second season there and it's very difficult (to imagine) they want to sell. We didn't want to.
"We have the disadvantage of the (release) clause here. European clubs (can) take advantage of that. That's not the case (in France) so it's not possible for him to return.
"The club's taken another path, with (Ousmane) Dembele, (Philippe) Coutinho. We have to move on with them. They're the two biggest investments in the club's history and we back them 100%."
Neymar scored 105 goals and assisted 76 strikes in 186 matches for Barca before joining PSG.
