Reports of a 10-year-old Akwa Ibom girl, Deborah, who was abandoned by her family and left to die has surfaced on the internet. A Danish aid worker named Anja Ringgren Lovén shared a photo of the young girl who was rescued by the police and brought to the "Land of Hope" in attempt to secure her life and build a future.

According to Anja, Deborah was left on the street to die by her family and was only saved by the local police who they have a good rapport with. Deborah was handed over to the Danish aid workers, trusting they would help the 10-year-old girl child make something out of her life.

Lucky to have been found, Deborah posed for a photo which Anja shared on her Facebook, welcoming her to their family and revealing that she would be enrolled in school soon and her journey to a better life would immediately begin.

Many social media users thanked the Danish aid workers for their selfless service to humanity. Young Deborah will now be a part of a family and grow to be a responsible and successful member of the society.

She was abandoned by her family and left to die on the street, but because of the good cooperation we have established with the Akwa Ibom police over the years, Debroah is now safe at “Land of Hope” where she will receive love and care, and next week she will start school ✏ ️
